No number of words can ever express enough the kind of loathing I feel for this operating system.
PCs are the marvel of home technology (their hardware is MUCH superior to that found in Mac computers), but they are run on the absolute worst software known to man.

Oh how I wish I had a better alternative for my games to run on.

Is there a word in the English language stronger than "hate"? Whatever it is, I'm feeling that for Windows right now.
My Windows is newly reinstalled after completely formatting the computer. Clean slate. Everything should be working just like it did when I installed it the FIRST time.
But NO! It decides it wants to act all screwy. Even after I installed all the drivers I had for this computer using ALL the CDs that all my hardware came with.
And I'm not even gonna get INTO what a huge pain in the ASS it is to reinstall Windows. (not to mention a pain in the wallet, but that's a whole OTHER rant)

My internet works fine now, but now my games won't run right.
Everquest worked for a while, but now it won't even run the patcher.
I tried to play KotOR a couple days ago, but it won't stay up for more than 10 minutes before it crashes and completely closes. I can't get past the stupid Endar Spire tutorial part because it keeps crashing!
At this rate I'll never get to Taris!!! Let alone all the fun dialogue with Carth! UGH!
I even tried bumping all my settings WAY down so it looks horribly crappy but runs easier on the computer. NO HELP AT ALL! IT STILL F*ING CRASHED!!!

I tried updating all my drivers, but none of the websites will cooperate.
So far the only driver I've successfully updated is the one for my video card. (nVidia's website actually makes SENSE)
I tried to go into the Device Manager to update all the drivers individually, but all of them keep saying "Cannot install/update/connect blah blah blah...".
And then I tried to find a program that would be able to update all my drivers, but all the ones I found are only free for scanning your computer, but if you want it to actually DO something you have to pay $30 to the company that made it, and it'll update all the drivers.

I know it's not a virus because:

1) I haven't done anything that a virus would come in from.
2) I installed Avira Antivirus and had that scan everything to make sure that wasn't it.


But no. That's not it. Aaarrrrrrggghhhh!!!!
Why can't things just WORK?! Why can't problems just be FIXABLE?!

Please stop sucking, and try to make something that doesn't suck.
